.YOUTUBIAN TIPS FOR THE BEGINNER BLOGGER
.
START FROM THE BEGINNING/
EMPIEZEN POR EL PRINCIPIO
.
You have heard the phrase, "don't judge the book by its cover", right? the same principles apply on youtube videos. I have gotten the chance to deal with youtubers who, claim to want to be helped, when in fact all they wanted was a one on one ego jerk. But for those who are really interested, this will be very simple and very helpful.
This is a list of what you need to memorize:
1 " what the hell was that?": Nowadays, even a reasonably priced cellphone records at an unbelievable T.V. resolution. 320 lines is in fact what was standard until 2008, for television. Even compact point and shoot cameras can record at comparable resolution and frame rate as a video camera. so, don't go all out into buying expensive equipment if you have things that are accessible for v-blogging.
a) Make sure to have LIGHTS! Do not rely on the camera alone. always have at least to separate desk lamps on both left and right side of the subject.
b) Buy a cheap tripod: though there are some who only do handheld shots on youtube, you will find that the v-blogs on youtube which are more pleasant are on a still shot.
c) Speak Up!: most of these cheap cameras tend to have close to good sound quality, yet the range of it is too short. So, you might end up recording the background noise closest to the camera mic. To avoid this you MUST speak up. (it is always nice to have a test recording before the real shoot).
2. "Hey That's the Guy Who Does ___ On Youtube". Come up with an idea, or make an adaptation of an original idea that you have seen before and give it you personal sauce. Lhike Pepsi and Coke, though both are practically the same product, it's up to the consumer taste buds to sway away from one to another. For example: There is a swarm of Ray William Johnson wannabe's on YouTube. Sadly, even though he just reviews most popular videos, (easy enough for a moron to do you might think), the unique way that he and his crew projects the v-blog is to a professional level. So, if you aim that high, try to make sure to have a fantastic crew behind you. Be for the after effects, writers, lighting and sound.
a) Write a pitch. like me there are many people who improvise there v-blogs. this style of v-blogging are preferred for how fluent and realistic they are. By writing just some guidelines you are assuring you will not forget your content.
b) become a character: By this, i mean, have a consistent theme for you videos. And even if a few make suggestions, kindly say thanks and keep doing what you were doing. you will NEVER EVER, satisfy them all. So, keep this in mind. let the crowd follow you.
c) Integrate you life experience with in your v-blogs. this will make it more believable.
3. "This is taking for ever": The Decimal rule of internet video streaming. The ratio of YouTube to Tv is simple. Y/1 T/10. Each youtube minute is translated into ten TV min.. So, make sure to be quick, to make clean cuts on your video editing software and keep away from repeating yourself. ( I am guilty of this too). you could have 10 youtube minutes and as long as there is no repetition your viewers might not be as bored by you.
Remember a pile of shit will still be a pile of shit even on wide screen HD.

TO EACH ITS OWN
.
When i started my YouTube Channel back in 07, I made lots of friends, most of them now even more famous than I now. And all of those even removed me from their page. (no hard feelings though). My channel was mainly in English and about cultural clashes with in the USA. That being said, my youtube friends who were from here, did not take lightly my experiences with prejudice, they opted to remove me. Though, the fact still remains. On the other hand a stream of new followers came along. People who lived the same experiences, haters, and guys who just liked me for me. It was a slow process but infectious. For each guy who would leave me, 5 more would come, almost Hydra like. I got many death threats and decided to take a new rout. This is when i completely removed myself from the "English Only" to a more Dominican Channel, My 89 subs kept multiplying my the every other month.
I won't deny that even when i went back to my roots i still got B.S. from people of Dominican Descend. (Not Dominicans). Including threats. But the subs keep growing thanks to the change.
Here is one of my very early Videos:
